Minddistrict, a leading European provider of e-mental health solutions, has announced a significant new partnership with Asklepios, Europe’s largest privately-owned hospital operator.
The companies are co-operating on a pilot project to introduce online psychiatric care to complement face-to-face treatment programmes in five of Asklepios’ clinics in Germany. Minddistrict will provide the technology platform and online care modules.
Minddistrict’s seamless e-mental health solutions are already well established in the Netherlands and the company expects their use in Germany to increase. Blending online and face-to-face care enables treatment to be tailored to individual needs by combining therapy modules flexibly. It also improves access to services for patients by reducing waiting times and the need to travel to appointments.
Commenting on the partnership, Minddistrict CEO Mark Willems said: “We feel proud and honoured that a leading hospital operator such as Asklepios has chosen to work with us. We know from our experiences in the Netherlands that the use of eHealth contributes to a better quality of care. This is exactly in line with the aims of Asklepios to provide personal and high-quality care.”
Kai Hankeln, Managing Director of Asklepios, added: “We want to develop psychiatry through the use of modern communication techniques. We are opening the door to the third generation of e-mental health: face-to-face treatment with active involvement of patients through flexible online elements.”
